My song – ‘Life is Dangerous’ From a show at The Drill Hall Arts Centre London. 1984

Wishing for a safer humane and compassionate world then, & now!

My words and thoughts at the time.

Life is Dangerous from ‘Live at Ronnie Scotts’

Life is a struggle.

Just when you thought you were out of the muddle –

you find yourself in a great big hole – digging deeper down, down, down.

Now look at what you’re seeing – I know its hard for us to believe in.

Fighting people everywhere, going down, down, down.

Just when you thought it was safe to trust the Human Race – you find out –

yea, you find out

Hey!  I hear you saying-

Life is dangerous, better start praying – to find a way to live our lives –

without going down.

I know we could change things. It is not enough to sit around here – waiting.

We’ve got our future in the children’s hands – don’t let them go down.

Just when you thought it was safe to trust the Human Race-

You’ll find out, yea, you will find out.

I know we all need homes and safety but, nobody knows when we’ll lose it.

Too many fools in charge of hot air – time is running out – there is no doubt.

Time to raise your voice and be heard, YES!

  1. Hi Carol, great to hear this on Jazz Record Requests BBC Radio 3 🙂 In the mid 1990s I attended some of your classes at the City Lit 🙂

Still your words to this song resonate…If only the world were less dangerous and people kinder to each other.

I hope all is well with you. x
